Welcome to Daisy Chain Garden Collective!
Do you want a veggie garden but don’t know where to start? Are you a seasoned gardener who wants a larger harvest? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you’re in the right place! I specialize in organic vegetable, herb and cut flower gardens, and I want to help you make the most of your green space.
Offering garden consultations, tutoring, design, maintenance and more, I provide a comprehensive set of services to ensure that your garden comes to life. I started this business as a means to show others the joys of growing their own food and the many benefits that come along with it. I find it absolutely necessary to build a more localized and autonomous food system for both the health of our planet and the future generations.
The “Collective” is made up of many gardens in the Grand Rapids area that are under my stewardship. Together, from one garden to the next, the Daisy Chain grows.
Meet the Grower
My name is Harrison McIlhargey and I’m a grower with nearly a decade of experience in landscaping, farming, and community gardening. I became passionate about growing food while working as a field hand and manager at organic veggie farms in Michigan and Northern California. With a deep knowledge of farming, a keen eye for beauty and a compassionate approach to teaching, I’m excited to share my knowledge and skills around the garden. I believe in responsibly grown food, helping my neighbors, and land stewardship.
When I’m not in the garden, you can find me adventuring on my bicycle, mending clothes, swimming in Lake Michigan and eating good food.
